JLG Telehandler Training Whitby - In the late 1960's John L. Grove, with his wife Cora embarked on on a cross country voyage in their RV. Newly retired, after spending many years working with his brother to build their crane business into an industry leader, John had no idea that momentous trip would permit JLG Industries, Inc to emerge. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling equipment was the end consequence of a road trip.
While on their trip, John spent time conversing with former business associates whom the Groves stopped to visit along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic occurrence-two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were visiting Hoover Dam- John discovered a vast marketplace for a product that could swiftly and securely elevate people in the air to accomplish upkeep and other construction functions.
After their return from vacation, John set up a business with two of his friends and obtained a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Opening with a small crew of twenty personnel, they fashioned and sold their first JLG aerial work platform in 1970. The business incorporates some of the simple design essentials of that original lift into existing models.
Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a long way from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country journey and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the market. As of today, the company has expanded itself into many different international markets and continues to develop new machines to guarantee that consumers are able to become safer and more well-organized within their workplace.
